THE STORY BEHIND SKARPER’S
EBIKE DRIVE SYSTEM

It all began in 2020 with Dr. Alastair Darwood – NHS doctor, inventor, and avid cyclist. Alastair loved his fleet of commuter, gravel, road, and mountain bikes but wanted the extra power of an eBike without the bulk and expense. After exploring various conversion kits, he found them lacking – too heavy, too cumbersome, and they compromised the sleek design of his bikes.

So, he set out to create something better. The result? Skarper’s eBike Drive System – a lightweight, click-on, click-off that transforms your bike when you need it, and clicks off when you don’t, keeping your ride just as sleek and agile as it ever was.
