All products by Frog Bikes are designed with the child in mind – they are not simply scaled-down adult bikes; children aren’t ‘miniature adults’, so why should the bike be? Instead, the design is centred around their unique anatomy, as well as their unique needs.
This means that everything from the bike geometry, right through to the quality components have been expertly designed to make a child’s journey as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
Features like the adjustable brakes and the handlebar stem add-on make concessions for the fast-growth that children go through. Then there are features that cater for performance – shorter cranks, scaled-down handlebars and easy-to-reach brake levers maximise comfort and make it possible for kids to improve their skills, travelling further and faster as they continue to learn.

Frog Balance Bikes
- The Tadpole – Perfect for a toddler, The Tadpole is a playful little bike that helps youngsters learn and refine their balance. Best suiting 2–3-year-olds (with an average inside leg of around 31cm), they are a convenient accessory to occupy little ones during any trip out to the shops, park or beach.
- Tadpole Mini – A great first bike that helps kids get the balance to cycle, the Tadpole Mini offers a playful way for your toddler to learn. It allows them to find out how to ride their own way and more importantly, at their own pace. This bike is suitable for children aged 1 and 2, with an inside leg of around 24cm.
- Tadpole Plus – Created for older infants (aged 3-4, with an inside leg of around 38cm), the Tadpole Plus is great to help these rapid learners to find their ideal riding style. Well equipped with adjustable child-sized brakes, the bike can be fitted perfectly around your little one as they continue to develop. There’s also the added benefit of a steering lock too – acting as a safety mechanism to prevent any falls or damage; we all know how kids at this age can get carried away!
- Frog 40 – The Frog 40, First Pedal Bike is a great-value learner for any 3-to-4-year-old (with an inside leg of around 40cm – hence the model’s name!) It can be tempting to buy something for your child that they will ‘grow into’; while that may be beneficial with other things, it isn’t with a bike – bicycles designed for older children may be too difficult for them to handle, potentially putting them off the idea of cycling altogether. The beauty with this lightweight bike is that it makes concessions for a child’s development – ensuring that you’ll be able to get a couple of years’ worth of cycling out of it before they’re ready to move on to something more challenging.
- Frog 44 – In a similar manner to the Frog 40 – but designed for kids aged 4-to-5-years-old (with an inside leg of around 44cm) – the First Pedal Frog 44 offers kids everything they need to master the fundamentals of cycling. Weighing just 6.39kg, it is perfect for those days out at the park or beach.
- Frog 52 (single speed) – Ideal for kids aged 5-to-6-years-old (with an average inside leg of 52cm), the First Pedal 52 is a great confidence booster for taller children who haven’t learned how to ride yet. With their removable pedals, this bike is extremely versatile, essentially being a 2-in-1 bike; acting as both a Balance and a Pedal Bike by first teaching kids how to ride, then growing their abilities when the time is right to attach the pedals.
Frog Kids Hybrid Bikes
Once your child has mastered riding, the next step will be to vary the terrain on which they cycle on – and this when it’s time to look at Hybrid Bikes. A Hybrid is essentially a bike that has been designed for both on-road and off-road riding; offering an easy way to travel on all kinds of ground.
Frog Bikes have designed several children’s Hybrid bicycles for all ages – in order, they are:
- Frog 55 – 20-inch Hybrid Bike, for children aged 6-to-7-years-old, with a minimum inside leg of 55cm.
- Frog 62 – 24-inch Hybrid Bike, for children aged 8-to-10, with a minimum leg of 62cm.
- Frog 69 – 26-inch Hybrid Bike, for children aged 10-to-12, with a minimum leg of 69cm.
- Frog 73 – 26-inch Hybrid Bike, for children aged 12+, with an average leg of 73cm.
- Frog 78 – 26-inch Hybrid Bike, for teens aged 13+, with a minimum inside leg of 78cm.

All our balance bikes are made from lightweight yet sturdy frames – making them easy to manoeuvre, yet sturdy enough to negotiate hard ground. The brake arms have been top-mounted to avoid the rider’s feet catching, while there’s a safety steering lock installed to prevent oversteering. Each balance bike also contains quick-release seat posts (no tools required) for easy height adjustment, as they grow and become more confident.
